Another outstanding trip with Alex as our guide. His expertise at locating birds is incredible. We could not have had a better time and everything was well planned out and efficient. We are looking forward to our next trip with Nemesis Bird Tours.

I recently returned from the Nemesis Bird United States Birding Tours California Central Coast itinerary, and I am still on a birding high. It's clear that Alex, our tour leader, is an elite birders in the field. His perception of bird songs and calls is impressive, and his passion for conservation and local ecology is infectious. Over the course of a week, we swept through a stunning variety of habitats—scouting the San Francisco Bay marshlands, scanning the rugged Santa Cruz cliffs, tracing the dramatic vistas of Big Sur, and exploring the oak-studded Gabilan Range. What makes this trip stand out is how brilliantly Alex managed to maximize species diversity while keeping the pace engaging and fun. We saw or heard an incredible 176 species on our trip! The targeted search efforts yielded a goldmine of regional specialties. Some of my highlights included phenomenal looks at the striking Yellow-billed Magpie, a Tricolored Blackbird, and, my nemesis bird for the trip, Lawrence's Goldfinch. Pelagic wonders included exciting offshore encounters with Black-footed Albatrosses, elegant Ashy Storm-Petrels and Black Storm-Petrels, and a look at two Tufted Puffins. The logistics were well executed—the lodging was comfortable, the transport was smooth, details that needed to be changed were executed flawlessly. But truly, it’s the camaraderie and expert guiding that made this trip worthy of someone doing a Big Year. I can recommend Nemesis Bird unequivically.

Another exciting and productive birding adventure with Alex. This time, the Central California Coast where we explored sandy beaches, rocky shores, open waters, city parks, redwood forests, and country roads. Very well organized and wonderfully paced. Great opportunities to observe the birds of this region…so many species we don’t have in Ohio. The 8-hour pelagic trip was smooth with tons of seabirds in amazing quantities. Everyone in our small group picked up double-digit lifers…even longtime serious birders. Comfortable accommodations and great meals at locally owned restaurants. Overall, a great birding adventure.
